We at SAFI work in close collaboration with respective local communities to implement project activities that promote sustainability in all its three dimensions – environmental, social and economic, to mitigate desertification while improving livelihoods among the people.
To achieve this, we intend to engage in
Forestation
Development of clustered community forests planted with indigenous tree species as a carbon sink.
Agroforestry
Capacity building of local farmers on agroforestry for related ecosystem goods and services.
Environmental Protection
Environmental campaigns and advocacy to clean lakes, rivers, market places and the community.
Climate Change
Other related activities that are meant to conserve the environment and mitigate the risks posed climate change.
Our Goals for 2030
Tackling the climate and biodiversity crises over the next decade is a massive undertaking, and it involves countless partners, communities, funders, governments and businesses. With a grounding in rigorous science, we take innovative conservation approaches from idea to impact, scaling to achieve system change.
